Chicken fingers (also called chicken strips, chicken tenders, chicken fillets, or chicken goujons) are boneless, skinless grilled or deep-fried strips of chicken meat.
Chicken fingers are either grilled as is or breaded and deep fried.[1] Unlike chicken nuggets, which are formed from a meat slurry, traditional chicken fingers are primarily made of white meat trimmed from the ribs of chicken breasts.
Chicken fingers are served in the United States, Canada, Europe, and Australia, often accompanied with dipping sauces such as ketchup, blue cheese dressing, ranch dressing, barbecue sauce, honey mustard, Buffalo wing sauce, butter and garlic, or the sweet and sour sauce. These kinds of chicken fingers are often served in a basket, like french fries, on a garden salad, or in a wrap.
Chicken tenders are also often offered by fast food chains, such as McDonald's with their "Chicken Select Strips" (introduced in 1980; known as "Chicken Selects" since 2003) and Wendy's "Homestyle Chicken Strips" (discontinued in the US in 2007, though not in Canada).
